What’s your definition of success? For some it’s landing that dream job or launching their own business. For others, it’s being a good mother or father. But what about love? It’s a tricky subject. That’s because the pursuit of love can make us feel uncomfortable, insecure, and inadequate. We dwell on the potential pitfalls and barriers. In fact, we put up many of those barriers ourselves: “I don’t have time for that”, “what could he/she possibly see in me?” or “I’m going to mess this up”.

In a city like London everyone is super busy and spoilt for choice, which makes the task even more challenging. South Asian professionals find it particularly frustrating as they try to navigate the space between tradition and modernity. Values are still important, as is stability, but religious background and family approval are giving way to chemistry and compatibility. If you’ve had your fill of underwhelming or odd encounters through apps and online dating sites, what then?

Aneeka Patel was one of these people, frustrated by the algorithm age and looking for something more meaningful and long-lasting. She sought a more personal and personalised service with less mismatches, as did others she spoke to. But there was no credible alternative. So she decided to revolutionise Asian dating by starting Project 143, a matchmaking agency for successful single professionals between the ages of 28 and 45. Her aim has to be like a best friend to clients, handpicking introductions to like-minded individuals with an emphasis on exceptional service.

Members are guaranteed a minimum of six matches in a six-month period with certified matchmaker Aneeka meeting all eligible candidates face to face. But it’s the journey that’s equally important. The company takes personal development very seriously and offers a one-to-one session with a dating and relationships coach as well as ongoing support and advice. In the process, a client understands himself/herself better, their self-confidence soars and they begin to see things more clearly.

The response has been very warm, and not just from the public. Project 143 received a glowing write up from datingagencyreviews.co.uk who described the agency as “definitely a go-to for Asian singles in the UK [whose] specific target audience will dramatically increase your chances of meeting a great match”. Project 143 was also a finalist in the 2016 UK Dating Awards. See what all the fuss is about here and if you’re ready for love then get in touch.
